Road To Decentralization: Carpathian Stake Joins The Elrond Network As Staking Provider

Staking Phase 3 opens up a new paradigm for staking thanks to the new Delegation Manager. Because it is embedded into the Elrond protocol, the Delegation Manager offers any staking provider the option to initiate staking pools and accept non-custodial delegations for customers.

This is a great way for staking eGold even for those who can’t meet the 2500 eGold per Validator requirement on their own. For the niche of people who have 2500 eGold or more, the options are to either run a Validator node on their own or delegate their relatively large amounts into a staking pool.

This is why we are excited to announce that Carpathian Stake is joining the Elrond Network as a staking provider, offering eGold holders an opportunity to actually own one or more Validator nodes without having to manage the underlying infrastructure.

“Carpathian Stake is able to offer their customers full node ownership in a non-custodial manner while abstracting away any kind of technical complexity. We are impressed by their solution and some of the underlying concepts, such as BLS key derivation, a first in the Elrond ecosystem.” said Lucian Mincu, Elrond CIO.

Carpathian Stake is a team of infrastructure engineers from Romania who have built their custom staking solution in close collaboration with the Elrond team. As a result, Carpathian Stake offers novel integrations with Maiar @herotags and a customized Node Hosting Service.

The Node Hosting service offers their customers the option of directly owning a managed node, which allows additional flexibility when it comes to managing the delegation cap, resulting in better control over the ensuing rewards percentage.

Carpathian Stake is the first provider to use a novel BLS derivation scheme, which allows them to generate multiple BLS keys from the same set of mnemonics, allowing tighter control over the security and backup aspects of preserving them.

“We decided to complement the standard delegation offering with a niche hosting product that caters to a very specific and important need that a lot of our customers have expressed. We hope our other integrations, such as the @herotag, will bring the infrastructure layer closer to the advanced functionalities that apps built on Elrond can offer.” said Alexandru Patru, Carpathain Stake Co-Founder.

The collaboration is important for the Elrond mainnet infrastructure, as it contributes additional options for those who want more control over managing their eGold stake.

About Elrond

Elrond is the internet-scale blockchain, designed from scratch to bring a 1000-fold cumulative improvement in throughput and execution speed. To achieve this, Elrond introduces two key innovations: a novel Adaptive State Sharding mechanism, and a Secure Proof of Stake (PoS) algorithm, enabling linear scalability with a fast, efficient, and secure consensus mechanism. Thus, Elrond can process upwards of 15,000 transactions per second (TPS), with 6-second latency, and negligible cost, attempting to become the backbone of a permissionless, borderless, globally accessible internet economy.

About Carpathian Stake

Carpathian Stake is a team of experienced developers and blockchain enthusiasts who develop decentralized applications and passionately believe that staking should be simple. By focusing only on the Elrond blockchain we aim to be the go-to partner for eGold staking.
