Road To Decentralization: Infrastructure Automation Tools For Elrond Validators Via The Syntropy Stack

The Elrond Network is a few short weeks away from being feature complete. With Staking Phase 3 and ESDT tokens becoming active, our mainnet will progress to the final phase of our bootstrapping process: infrastructure decentralization.

As part of this process, we have proposed the Delegation Manager, a set of software tools that anyone can use to start a non-custodial staking operation for friends or customers.

Today we are excited to unveil a set of tools aimed at enabling average node operators to access orchestration tools for managing their servers’ deployment, availability, and networking layer.

The Syntropy integration allows Elrond Validators to setup, monitor, and manage nodes in a multi-cloud environment while proposing enhancements to the network layer.

“By equipping average node runners with orchestration tools that are typical for professional operators, Syntropy can potentially help with retaining high Validator availability and security while the Elrond Network grows further decentralized. We’re looking forward to seeing the outcome of the public tests.” said Lucian Mincu, Elrond CIO.

Syntropy, formerly Noia, has been building a decentralized network layer that uses the Distributed Autonomous Routing Protocol (DARP) to route and optimize network traffic. The team further evolved the networking layer into a complete technology stack that aims to improve internet communication as a whole.

The integration with the Elrond Network enables Elrond testnet validators to deploy nodes via the Syntropy stack and check out the benefits of the out-of-the-box configuration and monitoring proposed by our partners.

“We’ve been super impressed with the Elrond team and their Validators community. We look forward to supporting them with tools that will allow any node runner to compete with professionals in terms of availability and management.” Jonas Simanavicius, CTO at Syntropy.

The collaboration is important for the Elrond Validators community as it provides tools that enthusiasts can leverage for increasing the quality of their Elrond nodes operations. This will give non-professional operators additional options to run a trustworthy setup on their own and thus further decentralize our infrastructure.

About Elrond

Elrond is the internet-scale blockchain, designed from scratch to bring a 1000-fold cumulative improvement in throughput and execution speed. To achieve this, Elrond introduces two key innovations: a novel Adaptive State Sharding mechanism, and a Secure Proof of Stake (PoS) algorithm, enabling linear scalability with a fast, efficient, and secure consensus mechanism. Thus, Elrond can process upwards of 15,000 transactions per second (TPS), with 6-second latency, and negligible cost, attempting to become the backbone of a permissionless, borderless, globally accessible internet economy.

About Syntropy

Syntropy is transforming the public internet into a secure and user-centric internet through a unifying layer where encryption and optimized performance are built-in and automatically enabled for anything and everything connected to it.
