Upgrade Your Web3 Security: The Maiar DeFi Wallet Now Displays An Alert On Known Scam And Phishing Websites

The latest Maiar DeFi Wallet update brings an important security feature that displays an alert for users who visit known scam or phishing websites.

The extension uses a list of known addresses that have been reported by our community and makes it hard for a user to access such risky resources, effectively keeping them safe from any fraud attempts.

You can help contribute to this list by reporting any suspicious links via email at notoscam@elrond.com. Our team of security experts will analyze the links and promptly update our database with the ones that are actually harmful.

Please consider that only websites that are reported and added to the database will provide this warning.

Use your better judgement and protect yourself using these simple tips:

  • Never share your 24 words Secret Phrase with anyone
  • Never input your 24 words Secret Phrase in any website. The only notable exception is https://wallet.elrond.com, for the rare situations where you want to restore a web wallet
  • Never trust “admin”, “community support” etc accounts that reach out to you directly via direct message on Telegram or Twitter
  • You don’t need to “validate” your wallet for any reason
  • Elrond never organizes “lotteries”; you can’t win a lottery you did not participate in
  • Elrond campaigns are announced on Twitter and Telegram, where the @ElrondNetwork account has a blue check mark - verify that before anything
  • Not sure about something? Ask in a public Telegram channel and wait for an admin to give you an official answer

Note: it is automatically updated for those who already have it.
